How I got here
I've always been the one
who builds the system.
My first marketing job wasn't at an agency. It was on a farm. At Gee Creek Farm in Washington I ran the creative side of a community-supported agriculture program: the website, the brand, a social media plan, and the first steps toward turning a working farm into an agri-tourism destination. That's where I learned that good marketing is a story told in the right place, consistently.
From there I went to Portland and into the web: building hand-coded sites at Dealer Spike, then designing and prototyping at Brandefined, where I worked with the owner to build their front-end workflow from the ground up.
In 2015 I started Creative Edge Media Group with a simple belief: every small business has a story worth telling, and blogging was the best way to tell it. I trained small businesses to write their own optimized posts on WordPress and get in front of the people searching for them.
At the same time, Advantage Media Partners in Beaverton brought me on to build a web department from scratch. Not refine one, create it. I designed the workflows that took their web work from scattered to scalable, built custom sites for small business clients, and grew into Creative Director, leading the team I'd helped build.
That's the pattern in everything I do. I find where the pieces don't connect, and I build the system that makes them work together.
